I just got a bunch of sci-fi figures and one of them is "star quest" (Cane from the first Alien movie) and this figure comes with a clear vacform canopy for his helmet. The vacformed part could be a little clearer and I thought about polishing it to a nice shine. What's the best way to improve the appareance of the clear part? I've heard about toothpaste used to polish clear parts. Are there other choices and how should I use them without ruining the part (The kit came with only 1 copy of the helmet dome).

Also, what adhesives should I use to fix the vacform part to the rest of the figure? Normal plastic cement doesn't work as the part is not styrene, and CA can develop white fog inside the dome.
Cheers

I'll try that. If I'm lucky, that's all the part requires to get back it's shine as there are no serious scratches or other blemishes. Am I wrong, or do future-coated plastics resist this CA fogging?

The future should prevent the white misting/fogging .... if use in small amounts.

Try attaching it with Micro-Crystal clear. it has always worked for me.
