Is there any members in the Northern Colorado area? I would like to meet and exchange ideals and to see other modelers models.

Email me or just respond.

Later,

John

Howdy John

Sorry I'm late for your post. In fact, I just happened to stumble on it while looking around. Maybe the others here on the site are simply doing the same thing and have just not 'stumbled' along as yet?
Anyway, about your stress of late...try to relax partner ....isn't that what modeling is supposed to be all about afterall?

To answer your original query, I am {read; was} from Colorado. But not from northern Colorado. I lived in southeast Denver for about 30 years altogether. I'm presently on the gulf coast of Florida {around Tampa} for a spell, but am planning on moving back to Colorado in the early Spring. I've got some personal business to take care of here in Florida and then I'm goin' back! Florida's nice and all but, the humidity is absolutely KILLING me

Anyways, I wish I knew you were in northern Colorado when I was there, I could have come up and met you during one of my trips up to Tom's Hobby Store on Main St. in Greeley. And, if you had wanted, I could have maybe picked up stuff for you from Colpar's down there in Denver.

Maybe when I get back in the Spring I'll give ya a hollar? OK?

See ya around John

warm regards,

Tread.

PostScript: Hey John, even though we can't see each other's models at the moment, I don't see why we couldn't exchange ideas until I get back to the High Country?

Howdy to you as well Stephen

I guess this is as good a time as any to confess something.....I had in fact noticed that you were from Colorado as well Stephen, but I somehow had this notion that in the 'real' world you actually were one of the owners of Colpars....so I was trying to covertly find out if indeed you were......apparently I was wrong ....my bad. I guess the reason I originally thought this fable was that there was someone displaying {sometime ago} quite a few exquisitely done 1/72nd scale WWI aircraft in the display case over at Colpars.....I thought they might be yours....it looked like your work...........silly huh?

Anyway, now that I've had an opportunity to confess my foolishness, allow me to say that I would absolutely love to meet up with you at some time after I return to the Mile High City if you could find the time for a modeling Hobo? Maybe we could even invite oldstl1000 to join us if he can also find the time?

Tread.

Actually if it is the ones I am thinking about...they were mine about ten years ago. I sold a bunch of my 1/72 scale builds (200 plus) to a wargaming society on the east side. They turn up from time to time. Since about 1992 I have done 1/48 almost exclusively. Though I know most everyone that has worked there in the past. Some of the IPMS Rob Wolf club hang out or work there.

Give me a heads up and I meet you both an we'll go out to the Platte Valley airport. Near Hudson. I think you pleasantly surprised.

Hi John,
I just saw your interest in meeting other ship modelers in Colorado. Is Aurora too far away for you, we have a ship building club there and you can contact Hugh there to get specifics about time and place.

Hi Steve,
I don't get to this site that much either, I find it difficult to find everything on. Haven't seen you in ages, where have you been. I am still at Colpar Sunday's and Monday's and work in my shop the rest of the time. Drop by sometime and visit, I may have some ideals that may interest you. Some of them should work out very well with your WW I planes.
Gordon is a regular customer when he is around, you could meet at Colpar and see all the new kits when he gets back.
Hugh

Hey Tom!

As you can see by the link Aeroscale, building models, kit reviews, and building 1-1 replicas has eaten up lots of my time. My retirement next year says I may have another job lined up more to my liking than corrections. Come out and see the new gal fly..

Just got this from my IPMS friends;

Hey all,

Saw an ad in the Sunday Broomfield paper for the "Wings of Freedom Tour 2008" at Rocky Mountain Metro (Jeffco Airport). The ad states that there will be a B-25, B-24, B-17 and a P-51 there June 30th to July 3rd. Walk through tours are $12 per adult, and $6 for 12 years or younger. "Flight experiences" are available for a tax-deductible donation of $425 in the Fort or Liberator, or the Mitchell is $400 in the forward fuselage or $325 in the waist/tail-gun section. The Mustang is $2200 for a half an hour, or $3200 for a full hour (Dual Control). No reservations needed for walk through tours.

Tour Times:
6/30 1400 to 1700
7/1-7/2 1000 to 1700
7/3 1000 to 1200

Flight reservations or questions 1-800-568-8924 or go to www.cfdn.org

Hey Gordon! Do you think you could break away from this fantasy life long enough to pay child support?

For some guys, apparently buying models IS a form of child support.
Anything going on this weekend? I'll be on an exercise at Carson for a week and MAY have Sunday afternoon off...

Hi John: I live in southwest metro Denver area. Maybe not real far north, but at least in the same state. Went to school at CSU a million years ago...
