Hi newbie signing in to say hi

Also need some help if i can be so bold. Am trying to build an N gauge rail layout 1:148/1:160 and am having difficulty in locating a supplier for certain items. Am looking specifically for British armour, trucks, weaponry etc in 1:160 or 1:148 scales, any help/directions gratefully received otherwise i might have to rethink my plans.

Welcome to Armorama, Roy
I can't recommend this site more.

Now, as for British Military in N.

Good luck. :-)

No, really. I model in N Scale myself. Post Modern American Military. (Future Military Rail)
I have to say that what you are looking for is VERY hard to find.
Here in the States, I would recommend that you send an SASE (Self Addressed Stamped Envelope) to:

J&M Hobbies
209 Old Post Dr.
Hauppauge, NY, 11788.

They will send you a catalog.
They do have a big assortment of modern AMERICAN Armor, Vehicles, Buildings and personnel.
I would say a lot of this stuff is interchangable and although I don't have the catalog in front of me, I wouldn't be suprised if there were Challengers in there.
I wish I could find a website for these guys, but the one I used to have doesn't work anymore.

Hope this helps and again, Welcome to Armorama!

By the way, if you go to the forum for Civilian Models, you will find a sub-category forum for Railroaders at the top.

Just so ya know.

Roy, I officially identify you as an Armorama God-send!

That's an awesome link, man. I know that it will probably be MUCH easier for you to order from these guys than the New York company.
I am glad you found them!

Thanks for the compliment Murphy apparently the US arm of the company can be found here http://www.minifigs.com/ can't actually see any N/12mm scale stuff but plenty of 15mm stuff if that's your thing.

Glad to be of service

Edited to add i did find n/scale stuff on here but the site is a bit confusing to use so if you want a direct link through to the N scale (1:160) stuff use this link instead http://www.minifigs.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=41

I model HO (thank God) and there is all that ROCO stuff. Of course mine was limited, I just wanted to depict an unloading of some M60a1 tanks as I remembered from my days in Germany at Graf.

While you are here on the site explore some of the other sections...you might develop the bug to build larger tanks or maybe airplanes or ships. We have lots and lots of folks here who are always willing to give guidance and opinions

Now i actually did think about doing HO/OO but realised that the room i have to work in isn't really that big, so ui decided on N scale. Was thinking of even doiing Z but then realised that my eyesight probably isn't going to get any better with age and i would be pushing it a bit too far
