Well I seen in this week (Medina Ohio Store) flyer that all models are half off. I stopped in on memorial day and loaded up and the best thing is I met the president of the local modeling chapter that located by my house. I was hesitant about going to a meeting without knowing anybody but now I cant wait (since I really need help on my painting of figures). Anyways one more thing if anyone is planning on going out the medina store I talked with one of the workers and they get a fresh shipment in tuesday and they will stock them for wednesday. I only seen one dragon model when I was there but there should be alot more coming in.

Good deal Major! I'm hesitant myself to get involved in any clubs as I've had some less than stellar experiences with other clubs in the past. Plus my closest club is too far a drive for me, closer would be fun though with a smaller group.

What was bad about the experiences you had?

I've joined numerous IPMS and AMPS clubs and never had a problem. I move every 2½ to 3 years and have to start all over finding the local shops, finding the local clubs, where and when they meet. My shortest stint was being a member of the Richmond IPMS and AMPS clubs for a period of only four months and the longest was being a member of the Patriot IPMS club for about 3 years.
Some clubs were more formal than others. Some groups I belong/belonged to are little more than a collection of several modelers who got together on a monthly basis to build kits and swap stories. The Nordland AMPS group and the unnamed Ft. Knox group are informal like this.
Distancewise, I had to drive about 40+ miles to get to Nordland AMPS and currently have to drive about 40 miles to go to the local IPMS meetings.

Never had any problems with a model club but with a couple of other clubs, lastly with an astronomy club. I've been a member there for a couple of years but have stopped going to meetings because half the meeting ends up being a minor lady session by the same members every time. These people sit there and start complaining about the same things and monopolize the time of the meeting while everyone else sits by, that's the short version. lol I really liked the club but I have no patience for the same arguments everytime, it seems very childish so I stopped going and won't be renewing my membership.
