Still shaking...

15 minutes ago I was driving and stopped for a cycler who had right of way.
Back of me a BMW SUV did'nt feel much for waiting and gave gas, pushed his car at the right of me, so the cycler had to stop hard and almost fell.
You think by yourself; why?

Just a few hundreds of metres further, at a T-split the SUV found the guy in front him too slow so he switched lanes during the turn and ran me almost off of the street. I had too brake so hard to avoid him.
It was a close call and we bothed stood still. But he just raised his hands to me as if it was my foult and that pissed me of so I went after him in the first place. But I saw it was some older guy, wearing that perfect business man suit in his shiny black BMW.
Than comming to my common sence again I just honked my horn as I drove by, because I stll wanted a word with him. But he did'nt react, just drove on.
Than, believe it or not. A few minutes later that same BMW drove by again as if the devil was on his back running almost 80 at a 30 km. road...

Sorry guys, there was nobody when I got back home and I had to let go some negative energy....

Thanks!

Paul , the rudest drivers in the world are in the U.S.A.
Your lucky you don't live in California, road rage there is usually accompanied by firearms. [ no offence to you Corky Carrol types ]
This country also lets you drive if your 98 yrs. old and can still make it to your car.
In America a vech. is not just transportation its a status symbol, a weapon, a motel, a bar, a restaurant, a place for women to put thier make-up on as they are driving to work, a closet, the back window area is often used for displaying knick-knacks & stuffed animals, a bill-board, etc., etc.

Thanks Cheyene,
Your post made me LOL again

Actually, I was a bit ashamed afterwards to get so pissed off, that's not my style normally.
It was just that arrogance of this guy that made al my alarmsbells go off... When he was some 'white trash' (as you Americans can say so beautifull) it would be aspected a bit.
But this was such a 'respectable' one, you know...
Outsides don't mean that much, however.

Accept for the fire arms, there's not much difference I between the US and Europe, as I notice from your post.

Hey, I saw you live in New Jersey; Bon Jovi's homeground!

Greetz!

I parked in a supermarket car park the other day early in the morning to miss the rush. There were no other cars near mine.
When I came back to my car there was this little old man stood by his car that was stuffed into the front of mine.
I could see that his car was damaged but mine only had a scratch.
So feeling sorry for this "nice old man" who may have fought for his country and all that I looked at him and smiled and was just about to say forget about it, no harm done when he looked at me and accused me of driving into his car!!!!!

Lucky for me I had my wife with me and there was also CCTV if need be to back myself up.

Not such a nice little old man

He probably damaged his car somewhere else and then positioned it as if I'd hit it to try and claim off my insurance.

Paul as it happens Bon Jovi only lives a few towns away and I've done telephone repair work for his lines.
Also have seen him around every once in awhile. Hell he's said hi to me and I'd scare a cat off a dead fish.

Too many Nascar fans 'round here for people to drive like that too often. You end up trading paint with some guy in a 1977 Ford F-150 with a bed full of empty PBR cans...

WHOOOOOO!!

Hi 007
Dont worry we have all been there, having been in the Police i saw some amazing driving ..came around a corner once as i reach the apex i see a volvo estate reversing back toward me in my lane thank good we had good brakes on the patrol car and nothing coming my way...when i got out to speak to her i noticed a car full of kids in the back......i said to her what in gods name were you doing she then said to me in a very snooty way ..iwas reversing back to show the kids the fox in the field...can you belive it and the attitude have you got nothing better to do.
I then checked her vehicle, still giving me grief,i was not going to book her if she had shut up ....so she got a ticket and she didnt have any water in her windscreen bottle ...another ticket.
As my old advanced driving instructor said"any one can drive fast its stoping that s the art "

Something I discovered long ago-the shortest measure of time is not a nanosecond-it's the interval between the light changing to green and the guy behind you honking his horn.

Hi, The only thing I can say is that if there's one thing that seems to work in this life is the old saying of "What comes around, goes around," and sooner or later drivers like this have to 'pay the piper' somewhere along the line. But, or course, these kind of drivers usually aren't smart enough to realize the lesson when it's their turn.

On a positive note, I've heard there is a bill they are trying to get passed, at least here in Ohio, that will make it illegal to use a hand-held phone while driving, which is one of my pet aggravations with other drivers. The insurace compaines are pushing it, so I have a good feeling that with this kind of pressure the bill should go through.

Take care, Sgirty

I personally think the worst drivers in the world are those who drive SUVs. The larger and more expensive the SUV, the worst the driver. That's just my own personal experience, no offense to anybody here who drives such beasts. Seems like that might be true in Europe, 007, as it is here. You sound perfectly reasonable to be so upset.

Simon Girty, we already have the " no using hand - held cell phone law " in Jersey.
I've yet to see or hear of anyone being busted for it. I' m on the road all day when I'm at work and I see 9 out of 10 drivers on hand helds. Thats only a tad more than women applying make-up while driving. - Cheyenne

No tickets here for 12 years now. Even though...

I have never owned a small vehicle. From my first car, a 1971 Chevy Impala, 4 door. to the Ford Explorer SUV I drive now.
And. I insist that the car in front of me go at least 5 miles an hour OVER the speed limit or I go around. Carefully of course.

I am a horribly paranoid passenger though. I have control issues in cars and trucks. I have to drive or I "white knuckle" it the whole ride.

And I live in the North Shore of Chicago. The crazy-ass drivers around here are ALL Doctors and Lawyers or their teenage, spoiled-rotten kids or their valium-popping wives with ALL of them with their BMW's and H2's along with the obligitory cell phone attached to their head...

Sorry, whew!

Well, you get it.

I have been rear-ended by a woman putting on her make-up & I have been rear-ended by a man dialing a # on his cellphone. Yeah both of those types piss me off, but I have rear-ended someone while fiddling with my radio (I hope a law doesn't get passed banning radio adjusting while driving!) :-)

Accidents happen. I am just glad that I seem to have got all that were my fault out of my system before I turned 19. knock on wood.

Seems that more people need to learn how to drive a stick shift, dialing a cellphone, eating a hamburger, looking at a map and inserting a CD.

Isn't that the first thing teen-agers learn? They certainly know everything else.

As a truckdriver I have seen some stunts during the last 15 years or so, some of which have to be witnesed to be believed,
of the top of my head:
Woman stopping in the roadworks on the motorway to move some cones out of the way because " they made her drive in the wrong lane..."
People driving at 80+ MPH in the outside lane, then at the last moment cutting across three lanes of traffic to make it to the exit sliproad...
REVERSING on a motorway (sliproad) because the driver " took the wrong turn.. "....
Parking / stopping BEHIND my truck, when my reverse lights, hazard lights and little 'caution, this vehicle is reversing' beeper going off as I'm about to back into a loading space at a shop...

It is just aswel that I'm not allowed to carry a gun..

And don't get me started on the "sorry, I didn't see you mate " when they have just (nearly) run you off your bike...

Still, that's cheered me up..
:-) :-)

Cheers
Henk

Hmm, maybe I could start a little sideline, seeing that I'm well praticed in using the CB, whilst rolling a ciggarette, drinking a HOT coffee, checking my map, indicating for a corner and eating a sandwich.. If I'm feling relaxed, I'll probably used to have one foot resting on the dash... . Mind you the foot on the dash was only on the motorway (freeway) as it would be to dangerous to do that in town.. :-)

If it's bigger than you, let it go first...

After reading all those posts... I planning to install a ships mist horn as claxon, attach some rusty chains on my front bumber, some flash lights on my roof and some "Shit happens" and "Your Too Close" stickers on my back side. But what's best for the sides? Old tires?

My sister-in-law drives an old Mazda van; more bumbs than three other cars. She tell's me she's never having problems with SUV's or other snobby cars; they all stay away on a safe distance... :-) :-)

the best way to get back at people like that is not become angry

I couldn't agree more - I don't get mad & I don't look at them - I just distance myself as best I can from them.

007 I am gald you proved to be the better man and are here talking to us vs. getting into a wreck chasing the guy or worse (like over here in the U.S.) getting shot.
