Ola guys

Well last week I visited Berlin. A 3 day feast of visiting all sort of historic sites. I also visited this thing. Now I only show a little portion nor am I going to tell the location of it yet. All I say it is huge. Which is actually a little understatement.

Now you guys tell me of what kind of structure this portion is that I show you.

That is Wrong it is not the flaktower of the Berlin Zoo the so called "G" Tower

There are no remains of the Zoo Flaktower they demolished it after WW2 had ended and cleaned the whole area. As far as my books state.

Could it be the Oympic stadium? Or alternatively, the former U.S. listening station on Devil's Hill?---Jim

It's part of a flak tower. The fencing is post war. I have no reference books as I am not at home so I can't say specifically where or which one.

It's the north face of the 'G-Tower' or Flak tower 3 (flakturn 3), in Humboldthain. It overlooks the Hochstrasse and Gesundbrunnen U'Bahn station.

And yess we have 3 Winners.. (I count the first guess from Jim Rae as one of them as his first guess was the closest.)
Then comes CReading. Also for his guess of the Flaktower. But a big Bravo goes to Davester as he gave the exact information about the little portion you could see in the pictures.
It is indeed the Humboldthain Flaktower(Turm) G. As CReading already said the fencing is postwar as is the monument standing on left tower.
Here are some more pictures of this collosal building
First the picture of which I took the portion out

Well I spend around 20 minutes walking through the Humboldthain public park and guess what I couldn`t find the tower. It really is something you can miss ain`t it. They blew up the whole back part which is now a huge pile of rubble only the north side stands up

Those were some great photos. Love to see the photos of Brandenburg Gate... Have any of the Reichstag?

Perhaps have them posted elsewhere?
