Get out the wallets kids. Plastic models are on sale again this week at Ho Lo. I am going to get a couple of the new DML kits. Plan on grabbing the Ardennes Tiger II for $16.00. May get the Bergetiger (P) too.

Mary, what kit(s) are you looking for? I might be able to hook you up if our three stores are carrying what you are looking for. Let me know. "Q"

Lets just do what we did last year. Everybody hit the stores in their areas and if someone finds something someone else needs let it be known. I know last year someone in Houston picked me up a T-55a kit. Moezilla and I are going to cover the Dallas area he'll hit the north and I'll hit the South. Try to get Rottenfuhrer to hit the west.

I was just at the local Hobby Lobby last night. Armor kits kinda thin. Ton of cars. But when they have a 50% off sale, I always buy something. if nothing else for a possible trade later on.

I have checked two of our three stores and they had a good selection of armor in both. I have a couple of kits that are stashed (hopefully). They are of the flying variety though. I have my eye on the DML Kingtiger as well, which was in both of the stores I checked out. There is a store located about 30 miles south of me and as far as I know there arent alot of builders in the area. I might hit this one up as well. "Q"

Has anyone seen any Dragon T34's or Sherman Firefly's? My HL is supposed to stock them, but can't order them currently.

The timing of this sale couldn't have come at a worst time. The squadron sale flyer is due anytime, and now there's a HL sale running too. What's a money challenged modeler to do? Where's my credit card?

The DML kits were gone by the time I made it there. They did have several last week or so. They had plenty of Tamiya T-55s, Steyr Command Cars and King Tigers. Only one M26 Pershing, one Marder III, and one M1A2 Abrams (I bought for a whopping $21). They had several of the ancient M41 Walker Bulldogs and old Panther A kits for $37 before discount. Hard to believe the new Tamiya kits were just a couple dollars more ($41) than the old, worthless kits ($37).

I have to wonder why Tamiya even has the ancient Panther kit on the shelves. There were three of them at my Ho Lo yesterday, right next to their new late Panther kit. I would have thought they would have buried that thing like the mistake it is a long time ago.

They might put them on Clearence soon! That means more tanks, speaking of which, has anyone bought that HUGE aircraft carrier yet? I was contemplating on buying it :-)

$37 for the crummy old A without the right # of roadwheels?!?!?

That feels like it HAS to be a mis-price.

Even the newer tooled G's at full boat MSRP are barely more than that.

From VLS
TA 35065 Panther A Medium Tank 1/35 $20.50
TA 35170 Panther Ausf. G 1/35 $41.00
TA 35174 Panther G w/Steel wheels 1/35 $47.00
TA 35176 Panther Ausf.G late 1/35 $41.00
TA 35203 Jagdpanther Late 1/35 $41.00

Oh well.. There aren't any HL's up this far north anyway...

I know it has got to be too early for them to have made it through the distribution chain so far, but has anyone seen the 251/7D in HL yet?

Or asking another way, what was the most recently released DML251 spotted on the HL shelves?

Actually, it looks like they priced the kits based on box size. The M41 was in a box similarly sized like the Steyr, Marder and Panther. The KT was a little more than the Pershing/Abrams/T-55, I think around $45 before discount. Uninformed store clerks probably mark the kits thinking that similar sized boxes equal similar products inside.

There are good deals to be had. I'm glad to be back in range of a Hobby Lobby.

I agree with Sabot about pricing based on box size, also I've noticed not all Hobby Lobby's price alike. I've seen the m41 be regularly priced at 30 some odd dollars before discount at one place and then $11.99 at another, no consistency. lol

Yesterday I made it to a very well stocked Hobby Lobby here in Houston. I picked up the Dragon 251C 3 in 1 kit and the Ardennes King Tiger (when they had a local 50 off sale 2 weeks ago I got the 3 in 1 Initial Tiger I). They had the Berge Tiger, the 3 in 1 251 D, and the Porsche Tiger I kit. It was also well stocked with Tamiya kits (T55, Late Panther, Marder III and IIIM, OIF M113 and Bradley). Right now I am one happy Hobby Lobby customer.

How good is that Tamiya T55? I've seen it there and have though of picking it up but held off. Is it worth it?

Maurice, It looks great in the box. From what I understand it is a great build and an accurate kit.

Hobby Lobby here in Mission, Kansas (metro-Kansas City) has several the Dragon 251C 3 in 1 kits (about 4) and the 3 in 1 251 D (I saw 2 kits), OIF M113, Bradley, Tamiya modern accessories and a lot of Willy Jeeps.
