Hi Steve:

The Hobby Lobbys here in Houston had a 50 per cent off sale last week. It was in the local weekly advertisement in the Sunday paper. Not sure why they had the sale here but not in Dallas? I picked up the 3 in 1 Initial Tiger for about $18.00 (including sales tax).

Steve, they typically have a national add sometime around Father's day, normally the week after. The last couple sales have been 40%, not half off, but still a good deal.

I picked up some paint there last night and the better HL store in town had four Early Tiger kits, one Ardense King Tiger, four Tiger (P), four Berg Tiger (sp), two Sdkfz 251/D 3 in 1 kits, four Trumpeter Liberty ships, one 1/72 U-BOAT!!!!, and a bunch of new aircraft kits. Pretty good stuff.

Does Hobby Lobby ever have the M106 kit on the shelves? I need a cheap one for a M1064 conversion.

No Dragon kits here at my local shop, wish they would carry some as I'd like to get that 3 in 1 everyone's raving about. Maybe in time for the next sale they will have one but if not I'll probably pick up that Mercury capsule model at least, half off that will be a nice savings.

I may be wrong but I think Hobby Lobby might be getting wise to us. They are carrying more items, which is great, and their prices are at least as good as our LHS. Obviously that's not as good as buying overseas, but it's handy. The last few sales were only 40%. Maybe they know they've got us hooked, and we'll buy just as much at 40% off as we would at 50% off.

I have it from a good source we can expect a 50% sale starting this monday. Don't ask how or why I know, just take it at face value. I'll be there when the doors open. "Q" and lets hope the little birdie is correct.

Ok to confirm Red4's "little Birdie", My source also confirms it. And this source is VERY reliable. It will be a 50 percenf off sale starting Monday, at least for the southern Ohio area. I have Monday off and plan to be there, at my old store... I ran the hobby and art section for just over 2 years... when the doors open. I am looking forward to the Initial tiger and maybe a 3 in 1 halftrack. Good hunting all, this should be alot of fun.

P.S. I will be in Fort Knox this Saturday for the reinactments, just as a spectator. Hope to see the rumored "finished" 251 halftrack that they have. Should be alot of fun.
