Mary, I'll see your Panzer, and raise you Duke.

We had to put down one of our older Goldens last month, and lo and behold a friend of a friend had 12 puppies. After letting myself be talked into one by the wife and kids, really had to twist my arm, I insisted on naming rights. I flirted with Montgomery, and Sherman, but settled on Duke, as in Duke of Wellington.

Rodger,
Good lookin' dog. Sorry to hear abut your loss. That is never easy.
But congrats on the new addition to your family. Enjoy.

BTW--good name. My family once had a Red Doberman which we named Baron. Get it? The Red Baron. Ah, history buffs and the names we pick for our pets. :-)

Those are some awesome dogs bro. They are very smart and even when they get bigger, they are still babe magnets. One of my dogs name is Duke of Earl, lol. But we just call him Earl.

I thought he was named Duke after the dog that gives away all the Bush secret family recipes for Baked Beans. I hope one day to replace my Beau who died two years ago...just keep trying to get a stable life first.

Rodger, thats a nice looking Golden Retriever. These are so friendly, most people can learn from them!

They are very smart...

Euuh...I disagree... My brother in law had one. He (the dog that is..)slept under the low saloon table. He crawls under it to go to sleep. Every time he awakes, he jumps right up, knocking his head against the underside of the table. He did do this every time, always, for his complete life! But perhaps it was just him :-)

ABSOLUTELY! That's their biggest quality!

Hey Halfyank,

Nice pup.

My horse that barked (165 pounds) passed away recently and my grand kids decided I needed a new pup. So my daughter and the grand kids picked me up and took me to the Humane Society where, after having my arm twisted, I ended up with a half Lab, half chow with coloring identical to yours.

Now we're going thru the hell of house breaking the new pup.

His name is "Panzer".

Sallie Derra.
My dog found me at the local "Orphans of the Storm" a shelter that will eventually euthanize dogs that aren't adopted.
In other words, I saved her life.
She actually found me and I have to believe she is the reincarnation of my first dog "Angie". She's as smart as anything, a frisbee dog and a helper dog for my 7 year old who is physically handicapped.
She is a Black Lab/Dalmation mix and I sometimes forget she is a dog.

She's named after the "Little Tower" Town in Robert Jordan's "Wheel of Time" series of books.

Here is my baby, Humphrey after Bogart, eventually we gave him to a good friend after our second daughter came along. Two kids (under 2 years of age) and a dog were just too much for us. Luckily our friend loves dogs and Humphrey now has a few brothers.

Great looking dog Rodger hope you enjoy him.
Regards,
Robert
