Oh, but it IS for modellers, Jim!

With over 140 clubs present, there were THOUSANDS of beautiful models on display in the club exhibition area. Not a contest, mind you...an exhibition. And a great one at that. I don't think a modelling event has to feature a contest to qualify as being "for modellers!" My apologies to those of you who live for the thrill of the contest, but the SHS is by far the most interesting and exciting modelling event I've ever had the opportunity to attend.

The show opens as a trade show, but the last two days are open to the public.
And a great show it was. Saturday opened with a display from the JASDF's Blue Impulse flight demonstration team, and the JGSDF had several vehicles on display. Tamiya, Hasegawa, and Fujimi (all located in Shizuoka) hold open houses all weekend. That alone makes it a great event!
I participated in the modellers' exhibition with my club, Naniwa Sensha-tai. A great time was had by all.

To say the Shizuoka Hobby Show is not for modellers is like saying Disney World is not for kids!!
