I see you've built one of the worst kit in modelling history, Tamiya Panther A.

For the camouflage, i think the consistency isnt regular, some camo stripes are too thick while some are too thin.

I see that the outer rim of the road wheels arent painted. The outer rims are rubber, I use Tamiya German grey for the colour of worn rubber.

Are you going to paint the tracks metallic?

Please do not be offended by my criticisms, criticisms improve us.

I did mention that its not over yet. and yeah i intend to paint the wheels. All in all, this model from tamiya is rather very weird, its very simple and the kit is made of very little stuff.

That's a very bold move eerie. The way you painted the camo onto the Panther.

All in all, not a bad version of your own panther

afterall there's only a few of us in this forum, we should share as much understanding we have of modelling)

this Tamiya kit is a real dog, everything about it is wrong! the tracks, turret, roadwheels etc...

Anyway, looking forward to your finished product.

:-) SpiritsEye has something against that Tamiya Panther, man of perfections, something modellers always have

I like Tamiya & DML best.
Academy has some lousy kits at times.

Some Academy kits are good, like their Tiger Is.

Their old kits are bad copies of Tamiya ones. Stay clear of them. Unless you need a cheap kit to practise some techniques.

The best model is still DML. Academy Bradley is worth buying,

Eerie, the Panther looks great.

I like how you cut out the demarcation lines on the spare tracks and the subtle drybrushing of the vehicle.

The decals are a bit silvery, it can be easily fixed though, with a spray of dull coat.

You can sag the tracks by glue the upper part down onto the roadwheels. I use white glue to do this, superglue works too.

I don't know why but i really like the first picture. It looks great!

Looking good my friend.. Yup.. the first pic looks best. Because of the amount of 'destruction' you got on the edges i guess.. haha.. you serious about trading that kit? I think I ruined it already.. :-)

It's an Academy Panzerkampfwwagen IV Ausfuhrung H/J.. I got it for $14.70 quite a few years back. Has been lying on my work desk for so long until I decided.. I shall pack it up and put it back into my cupboard till I feel like taking it out again.

Ike, the Academy Panzer IV is a dog of a kit. Lousy fit, crappy tracks/tools/details etc. I built that once, for 15 bucks...well no complains. At least in the end it still looks like a decent Panzer IV.

I think i'm gonna pick it up again though. For trying out new techniques. Too bad MH doesnt stock it now.

Anyway, find time to finish that kit. It can, as i said, turn out to be a decent Panzer.

Eerie, great job on the Panther. I have seen such camo markings in reference books b4. Can i give some comments? How about the antenna? Did u leave it out on purpose? I agree w/ Danny that u shd sag the tracks by glueing it down to the road wheels. It will make a whole lot of difference to the realism. U can add more details such as the bullets for the MG snaking out from the gun (if u have spares from other kits), cover for the muzzle (if the tank is not supposed to be in action) and wires for the headset of the tanker.

All in all, good job! Is this cat gg to 'star' in a dio?

Thank you everyone for you kind comments. I think if you read back upwards, the reaction changes from the first published photos to the end product.
I am still dry brushing the tank. I ve been rather busy lately with work cos SQA audit are coming down to the station.
And to add to that, i have yet to open my 1/6 Mortar team set. Its just too nice sitting in the box.
I still also have my EVO, m tiger 1 and panzergrenadiers, and a motorcycle which i traded with danial for 2 of my paratroops.
Busy busy busy.
But i do hope we could produce our sm-1 or bionix.
