I would love to make a dio with 1/72 scale.

Where can i get figures in that scale? I heard about the excellence of this brand, Preiser. Which hobby shop carries this brand? Or any brand that deals with 1/72?

Thanks guys

You can try the shop at Center point or Tiong Bahru. They have lots of 1/72 fig sets. But frankly, i prefer them bigger like 1/35 but not as big as 1/18. If any bigger, i prefer 1/6 now thats easier to manage.

Well 1/6 is huge man. You can put a kid on the tank and he can go riding away! :-)

Well yeah you do need alot of space. But be informed, 1/6 produce other vehicles and equipments just like 1/35.

EG anti tank guns, bicycles, motorcycles, half tracks, helicopters.

Some parts of those 3 pictures do look inproportional. Like the hills in the 2nd picture.

But all in all, Bravo!

Eerie, are those your friends models? That's some German Gathering in Singapore! :-)

Yes german figures are cheaper, easier to get and more people are collecting them. And they look very good.
I myself own
3 101st Airborne Paratroopers
1 82nd Airborne
2 Fallshcirmjager (German paratroopers)
1 Brit Royal marine commando
1 Brit Paratrooper
1 German Radio operator.

Interested?
COme join the dark side.....
Its like fully articulated male barbie dolls. But with everything that you eventhough off. What is not possible in 1/35 is possible here. Imagine, six of this figure make 1 of us.
Anything.
Russians, Americans, British, Germans, anything.
Loads of uniforms, loads of weapons from small luger to large 88mm and larger tanks.
We have large scale photo shoots with fellow collectors all around singapore.
its a small community but larger than our scale modeller here.
Modern soldiers, special forces, assault boats, helicopters, whatever you can think off...

I think modelling scale 1/35 would take a lot of my time/money already. Thanks for the offer though. At least I know there're people in Singapore who collect these "giant" barbie dolls =x. Interesting hobby though.

I always buy my skif products from hobbyterra. It's a Ukraine online shop and the price w/shipping charges are cheaper compare to buying them from local hobby shops. They sell alot of 1/72 products and many are not available in S'pore.

Are those x-USSR kits good? Never really hear of those models before. Might have seen them, but forgotten.

I'm not really sure about 1/72 scale as I only built 1/35 scale models. But skif kits are ok, so are rest of ex-USSR / Eastern Bloc manufacturers. It's the unique range of vehicles that they put in plastic that attracts me.

Cheers
