Howdy all. Just wanted to let you folks know Conor aka "Little Chief" took third place in Beginners Aircraft at the local Hobby Town USA contest in Norman Oklahoma saturday. He built a 1/72 Spitfire Mk XIX. You should have saw the look on his face when he saw the ribbon, it was priceless! Dad only helped by showing how to use the nippers to remove the first part, apply glue with a toothpick, and use a sanding stick. I only had to show him one time for each step. I did draw the paint demarcation lines with a pencil, but he painted it by himself and applied the decals. I just straingtened them up a bit, but he did 80% of the kit himself. What a natural! Now he wants his own tool box etc. to do the P-40 he picked out with is prize coupon.
Oh, yah. Dad didn't do too bad himself too, my M4A1 (76mm) took 2nd and my FLAK 36 88mm took 3rd. Will post photos when I can get ahold of a digi cam. Cheers!

Hoorah! :-) Great gooing to both of you. Remember, the family that models together, sticks together, especially when the super glue spills!

Congradulations to you both. It's good to see the team do well.
I did a 3rd place for my M106 in the Grand Forks Hobbytown contest. The sad news is the store is closing in a month,
Keep up to good work guys.

Congrats to ya Chief and the Little Chief. My son and I just finished up the HobbyTown show here in Knoxville, Tennessee. He tokk 1st for his F-18E Hornet and his buddy took 3rd for his F-14D Tomcat. I took 2- 1st for my B-25 and my F-14D Tomcat (1/32 Tamiya) My F-4J pictured in the model gallery took 2nd to the Tomcat. We had a blast. It is so good to see these kids get so into modeling. For awhile I was thinking it was becoming a lost art. Now I know there is hope for years to come. My 5 year old is already talking about building like his brother. Mom says she is gonna kill me, but I can't wait. To have both of them at shows with me is just more than a Dad could ask for. Congrats again and good luck down the road.

We had a contest here in Fresno also. I made a few changes to my M-41 that some on the site suggested I make. I ended up taking second place against 9 other tanks. I was pretty excited since it is just my second armor model and third model since I came back to the hobby after 15 years. Congrats to all the other winners also, especially the young ones. Keep up the good work guys.

For those of you that won, I have a question. What did you get as an award? The first hobby town contest I went to I got a plaque, this time I got a gift certificate. I am just wondering if each shop does things differently.

Not yet. This week we will be doing the last of the Xmas shopping so it will be ready for our last shipment to go overseas. It saves on postage fees you know. There is a discount tool shop here that has good prices on jewelers screwdrivers, nippers, pliers and files. The rest I'll get on line when I get all set up over there.

Congratulation chiefs big and small. Sounds cool. At least now he´ll understand why you never want hime to touch your models. And when anything goes missing you´ll know where to find them ..... his tool box!
