I am a full time figure painter (Wargame and 28mm collectors figures) selling via eBay and private commission. Going back a few years I used to make & paint 54mm and 1/35th figures and models for my own relaxation (took several golds in BMSS and IPMS events) and want to get back into that side of the hobby.
I would like to extend my current commission and painting work to include 54mm figures but am wondering if there is actually a market for this. I see figures for sale on eBay quite often but nothing like the numbers of 28mm Warhammer type models.
So please help, Do you think there is a market for ready painted collectors figures, if so what is a "realistic" price for eg; 54mm metal Napoleonic Infantryman on small scenic base. Or for commission work, what would you consider a fair price range for good quality work?
Some of my smaller scale work is shown at:
 Coat of Arms
I have a couple of 54mm's which I am starting on now so will have some pictures to show soon.
Thanks for any help.

Hi Rob and welcome on Armorama. I wish u stay here not only as a seller for figures but also as a modeller and contributor to our figures forum .
I run through ur site and gallery and was really impressed by the work ure doing in fantasy and stuff like these themes. Ur figures are very nice and i believe that u have to do more 54mm historicals.
Collectors market on painted figures is kind of strange think. I mean i also paint commission works here in Greece for local buyers. I take some rates that can be considered low to what others take but also normal or bit highto what other get paid. I mean is all a matter of ur level, the demands of the buyer, his knowledge, his ability and wish to pay, and where do ur skills go to , not only for painting the figure but for making special bases, vigniettes compositions and the likes .
If u like more specific info on price rates in Europe and sample prices for figures please pm me .
Keep safe and join the figure forum and see also the FOTM competition
