From time to time a question appears...how to make nuts, bolts and rivets. Well this is how I do it, a homemade jig. Myself I think it works well, and it's easy to do. It's nothing to make as you see in the pics.

I painted the rod just to show how it feeds through

Then cut the thickness you need, that's all that's to it.

Tip: when making rivets, once added to the model brush over rivet with liquid cement. This will round the rivet head

Joe, that's a pretty simple set up....
put a patent on it, or some company is going to copy it, and start selling them at an extremely high price.
I'll PM you my address..... I'll field test it for you..... :-) :-) :-)

Even better, put another guide for the blade on the other side.Use a single edge razor blade as a chopping knife. It would be a bit easier to hold.I will make one based on your design. (++) (++)

Looks good but I'm confused. How do you ge the different shapes? Is there something I'm not seeing? I'm very interested.

Hey ti the different shapes are from different types of rods, hex, round and square. Rod sizes range between .015" to 3/64" Just slide the rod in and cut the thickness you need. Most of my cuts are the thickness of the blade.

Quoted Text

It would be a bit easier to hold.

The butt joints( :-) :-) :-) I said butt) supports the guides so as they dont' widen. The longer one is held with the finger and thumb...making it easy to hold.

Nice nice. Looks easy to make. Evergreen sells the plastic rods but I don't know if they are available in Europe
