Hi All

I had the afternoon off today and went to visit a friend of mine who is a Vet from the 82 Airborne 504,Jerry Unrugh, 80 next month, what a great afternoon and a honor to spend time with such a great guy.
He told me he went to a jump school in England called 'Ashwell' he thinks it was near Manchester can anyone in the Uk find out some info if i can locate the area i want to get a map for him of the area, i told him i was going to do a figure of an 82 Airborne at the B.OF.T.B where he fought.
We sat in his garden for about 4 hours chatting and what a garden he has 1,865 Azalias the colors just blow you away, quite beautiful surrondings created by some one who faced such horrors.i will post a pic soon as i down load them.
So if anyone has some info on Ashwell that would be great.

Cheers Chris

As far as I know, parachute training took place at RAF Ringway near Manchester (Ringway is now Manchester Airport). Searching for Ashwell on Multimap.com didn't turn up anything suitable, but there is an Ashley near Ringway.

Some other stuff I found on Google

Hope I'm looking in the right place...

Okay, I'm an idiot. Some more time with Mr Google picked this up

Not really near to Manchester, in British terms anyway

Sorry about the misdirection at first..
