I'm in the process of putting down a new floor in my loft in my condo. This is where my PC's and Modeling Area is and now its all tore apart and I'm stuck using my laptop with a wireless internet connection. As I'm sitting here I'm having yearnings to work on a model, which is impossible at the moment. But as soon as I get my loft back together in another week or two, I won't have any interest in building models...its fustrating! It seems when I work on models, I dont have the desire to, but when I can't, I do!

Scott, I have run into the same problem on occassion. Heres what I did. I grabbed a kit, some snips, a file or sanding stick, a #11 knife, and some blue painters tape. I then parked my lilly white a** in front of the TV with a good ball game on and proceded to clip, sand, trim and tape the major components together. I later put all the trimmed off parts in a zip-lock baggy for later use. I was able to do this with about 6 different kits. When my shop was back up and running it was a simple matter of pulling one of those kits down, sitting down and building without the hassle of the clean up. It also gives you a pretty good idea as to where if any trouble spots might be. Try it, it worked for me. "Q"

I've got a folding TV tray table that I use as my primary work surface, although I finally have a set of quarters where I could set up a workbench.

I did a lot of TDY (traveling) and have almost all of my model building supplies in a Wal-Mart fishing tackle box. I would take it with me and work on a Braille scale kit at the hotel room. I still have a couple of 1/72 scale kits sitting in the bottom of the tackle box for model building fixes.

I've done a lot of renovations to my place as well. It's simply building a full scale house at full scale prices

After doing all the full scale sawing and cutting and measuring I certainly don't feel like doing small scale sawing and cutting and measuring either.

However I'll pop in a good movie with lots of armor (usually a good dose of Kelly's Heroes or A Bridge Too Far does the trick) I get to thinking about all those cool movie scenes that I'd like to try and dio. That usually takes me to a quick visit to Great Models website and then Big A and all of a sudden I'm at my bench opening one of my stash.
