Hi all,

After seeing the movies "The Pianst" and "Uprising" I would like to learn more about the Warshaw uprising.

So, does anyone know good books and/or websites?, or can somebody tell me a lot about it here in this thread?

And am I correct if I say there is a difference between the uprising of Jews in the Getto and the uprising of the Polish underground army? (first one in 1943 and the other in 1944)

Thanks,
Martin

You are indeed right about there being two separate uprisings, though some of the survivors of the first took part in the second.

I've just finished reading Norman Davies' book "Rising '44 - The battle for Warsaw" and I recommend it highly.

It gets a mention on this site

Leon Uris wrote a historical fiction book on the Jewish uprising called "Mila 18". One of the man's best books in my opinion. and I love EVERYTHING HE WROTE !!!!!!!!!!!!
