The 430 is a single action airbrush, and the 470 is an double action airbrush...]
For to know what is a single or double action airbrush, please search on the foruns, it was discussed a time before.

You sure? Testors lists both as double-action - http://www.testors.com/Categories.asp?act_id=3&Name=Airbrushes/Accessories - and lists the 220, 270 and 320 as single actions.

Hello Claymore, and welcome aboard. I carry both references in my inventory, and Armoured Sprue is correct the 430 is a single action. If you want a good dependable tool to work with there is no hesitation, go with the 470. The delux model, with the wooden case is superb, and supplies loads of additional accessories. For the moderate difference in cost, I can't recommend strongly enough the 470 deluxe set.

OK, On Saturday I went off and bought the 430. The shop showed me the 470 starter (plastic case, brush, one container, one tip, ~US$140), the 430 kit (wooden case, brush, 3 containers, 3 tips, US$140), and the 470 kit (wooden case, brush, several containers, several tips, US$185). The 470 kit was out of my budget, and based on the cost of additional tips (~US$15 each) and containers, I took the 430 kit.

The only difference between the 430 and the 470, and demonstrated by the guy at the shop, is that the 470 has a little roller at the back that will set a "stop" for the trigger, so that you can't exceed a certain amount of paint, as you desire (I think that's the way he described it). The guy said he hadn't used it since he got a bit of practice, so I figure I'll practice.

The 430 is definitely double-action though - I think the single action brushes are the 220, the 270 and the 320.

Haven't had a chance to play yet - I'm studying for exams, so all my modelling stuff is packed away.

Played a bit the other night - this airbrushing thing is really easy. I hadn't expected to get the hang of this so quickly. Ah well, time to practice!
