Check out this auction on EBay for a rare matchbox car. You can do whatever you want with your money, but man, this is outrageous....

Does the phrase, "there's a sucker born every minute" mean anything to anybody? If you've got the money, and your kids aren't going hungry or anything, then you can spend your money however you want, but this is nuts.

OK, I'm not kidding when I tell you all that about 3 months ago there was another 'Hotwheels' collectable on e-Bay that went for 27,000USD.People who collect anything, can and sometimes do,just lose it. Have seen early Tamiya -Mokai 1/21 scale armor kits(in the box) go for 3,000+USD.There are 3 Revell 1/32 Japanese WW2 fighter kits going for really big money also, because their molds are on the bottom of the Phillipine Sea!Train collectors are old hands about going bonkers with hobby spending. It's not even mildly surprising. If I did it,swmbo would gun me down and laugh while pulling the trigger!

Well since I have a collection of HotWheel cars (about 900 or more), I can tell you if this is truely what the seller says it is, it's probably worth more than the 7,000 plus dollars. It's Hard to tell really from the pictures.
The record price paid for an original Redline Hotwheel ( a VW micro bus with surf boards) from 1967 (the first year they came out) and in mint condition, was about $35,000...no kidding.
You wouldn't believe the number of people who collect Hotwheels. I stopped after collecting for only about two years. There are so many cars, it's nearly impossible to get all the variations that exist. Just one car can have numerous variations.
Most of my collection is for sale BTW... and I'm only asking $1200.
