Well today, I was shaving down a peice of resin wall that I got with a dremel. Alot of it was floating around since It was alot of wall. It got all over my modelling desk, so everytime i went near it, i inhaled it. I inhaled a crapload of it and now I cant really breath without it hurting alot. I also have very bad stomach pains. I remember you guys saying resin is harmful when inhaled? Just wondering what to do.

If you haven't called a doctor yet, you might want to consider it. Resin is not biodegradable, it will not break down in your system. You should have a mask on hand for the times you will be using power tools or sandpaper on resin. Then every half hour go outside and walk around for a while. If you are still having trouble breathing in the morning seek medical attention. Try looking up a material safety data sheet (MSDS) for the type of resin you are using and it should give you some more pointers.

Damn Harrison are you trying to steal my "bad health" spot-light??

I hope you feel better soon and definately don't take it lightly if it's bothering you that bad. Go see a doc.

I have to say Grump's got it down mate !
USE that MASK !
or if you dont have one , then cut down the amount of resin waste you produce by Vacuuming it up after a certain time then start over could be a good idea to go outside with it too ?
Get better soon bud ! K

The catalyst that hardens the liquid resin probably contains an isocyanate. Nothing to fool with. I would head to the doctor just be on the safe side.
If you know exactly what type of resin you have you can search for the MSDS sheet at the website below:

http://www.ilpi.com/msds/

We use a lot of different two part plastics and resins here in the pattern shop and most of them have a pretty low airborne exposure thresh hold limit.

Does anyone know the full name for the polystyrene of any mainstream companies as well as the stock card styrene that companies like Evergreen use?
