Hey Warship Guys !!
Have you tried Ubisoft's Silent Hunter III ?? It's a machine hog, but finally after two tries, they have got it right, IMHO.
I'm still practicing, so I may find the real game unplayable, but so far I like it.
I do really wish this version had been from the Brit/Canadian Flower Class Corvette Captain perspective, but that's vertainly a forlorn hope ...

Hi John,
My eldest son just lent me his copy to have a play with.
I'm also still training, (don't get much spare time at mo)
But like you said, it looks and plays well.
The graphics are excellent.
I've been messing with the deck and flak guns so far and a bit of plain sailing.
Torpedos next

Silent Hunter III? I hadn't even heard of it. Does it work and play well with XP now?
I had the original Silent Hunter, the one that recreated US sub war against Japan, and it was possibly the most exciting, and addictive game, I've ever played. It gave me white knuckles and sweaty palms whenever I tried to attack an escorted convoy. Then years later I got SH II, but it didn't like XP too well. I could play it, but not well. Plus it has a number of bugs, like flying ships, being able to drive your boat over land masses, no dynamic campaign, lots of things. I gave up after a while. I also got the follow up Destroyer Commander, and played it for a while but it had some of the same bugs SH had.
If this game isn't too loaded with bugs I may have to give it a try.
