No offence to the seller, but how can you ask for a quarter million for the ship, and then set the reserve price higher????

I know several guys that will make you one for half the price. This guy is targeting museums that have way to much money to spend and get taken to the cleaners. Heard a guy sold a 1/16th scale M2 Bradley to the Ft Stewart museum for $100 k

For that kind of money, I'll sell him a 1:1 of the Lexington. Only problem is that he'd have to transport it from Corpus Christi. AND there would be no receipt.

There was a thread here about it a couple weeks ago when it was an active auction item. The auction has expired, guess he didn't find anyone crazy enough to buy it. It is actually 1/72 scale and a great model (not worth $250K though). It was featured in the March '97 FSM.
