Making straps for puddy bedrolls help

I have attempted to make bedrolls for the first time the, bedrolls actually came out nice however does anyone actually know a good techniques to make accurate looking straps. It would really help me out. Thanks in advance

Nerve, you could use the same method for the straps as you did for the bedrolls. Roll the putty out thin with a rolling pin and some baby powder to prevent it sticking. I do this on a small piece of glass about 5x8 inches. Then, using a #11 blade cut the size straps you need. If you are working on lets say a sleeping bag size piece, sewing thread works fine as you can tie it and let the free ends hang naturally. Once cured, paint as normal. HTH "Q"
