I cant for the life of me figure out why no one makes a 1/35 scale p-51, bf-109 etc. I realize there are helicopters available and more recently 1/48 armor but why not one unifying scale. 1/35 seems to be the most popular. Im not even talking about a lot of aircraft, one of two!!! Thats all Im asking. Ive had this idea for a crashed 109 being passed by allied soldiers for quite a while. Anyone know why this has never been done? Seems like the market would be huge.

Large scale aircraft are in 1/32 scale. It is an old scale and goes back way before there even was a 1/35 scale for armor. Most feel (myself included) that 1/32 is close enough to 1/35 that you can easily mix the two together (I have on many occasions, check my showcases below). This is especially true when mixing unlike objects like tanks and aircraft or trucks and helos etc. Even figures can be mixed, just keep constant sized items, such as weapons, canteens, packs, etc the same scale. Remember, people come in all sizes, equipment is made to one size.

Ive often wondered about 1/32 scale and 1/35 working but never tried it. Ill check your pics!!
I was told by some one not too long ago that the creation of the 1/35 scale was due to a copyright infringment case btw Tamiya and another company. Something about Tamiya loosing the case and settling on 1/35 since they couldnt use 1/32(54mm). If anyone knows more about this Id love to hear it.
