Hi,

first: I picked up the Italeri Leopard 1 a2 the other day and I was considering converting it to a C1 or a C2 with one of the Trackjam/ Maple Leaf Models kits. But I noticed that they are based on the Italeri 1A4 and Revell 1A5 kits respcetivly. So, I'm wondering what kind of problems I'd run into using the Leopard 1A2 kit for the base of either conversion.
second: the pictures of the C1 kit seem to show the modelpoint 105mm L7a3 barrel, is that included wit the kit? or is it sold seperate?
Third: how much of an improvement is the Modelpoint barrel over the one supplied in the kit.

Thanks,
Mike McGregor

Hi!
Question 1, I don't know about the 1A2 kit. However,Trackjam sells the Italeri 1A4 kit as it's OOP. The Revell 1A5 kit is everywhere. Maple Leaf Models sells just the turret for the 1A5, though, if you can't find it.
Question 2, the Modelpoint barrel is included. And,
Question 3, it is a much better barrel than the kit one, you just need to add the clamps to hold on the thermal sleeve.
Trackjam also has the Leopard 1 indy-link tracks from Hong Kong Creation Workshop at a low price (just a little cash and a little of your sanity )
Cheers!
Mike

Just to clarify, the Leopard C1 does not include the modelpint barrel. It is sold seperately. However, I still have the special on for Armorama members. That is an Italeri leopard 1A4, a trackjam C1 conversion, Modelpoint barrel and track for $100. Just include your Armorama callsign when making an order.

Was wondering there Paul whether that was a 1/35 beer.

By my calculations a1:35 scale beer is 1/42875th of a pint!

And here I was thinking it would be roughly 1/35th of a pint ;-)

No, no, no. 1/35 scale means 1/35 in each dimension, therefore it's 1/ (35^3) or 1/42,875.

:-)

Engineers gotta stick together, y'know.

Humph, arty. Wonder they can hit anything, given how bad their math is...

Isn't that why they're called "dropshorts"?

1:35th is of course only one dimension. If you are talking area (two dimensions) then the scale would be 1/35 times 1/35 and for volume times 1/35 again. Sorry for the technical description. I just couldn't help myself

you guys are nuts!

1 pint x 1/35 pint = 1/35 of a pint.

Typical engineers, always overcomplicating the problem!
