G'day guys
well today was the Airshow Downunder 2005, held at Avalon Airshow, one of the worlds largest airshows.
I could'nt have asked for a better day out, they had everything from Bren gun Carriers, to the brand new
F-35, which made its first appearance to the general public.
Although i didnt get as many pics as i wouldve liked
( 32 mb memory card), it wouldve been bloody hard to photograph everything, with literally hundreds upon hundreds of aircraft, both parked and flying.
If you wanna some more pics heres there website...
Airshow

Anyway heres my pics of the day
(also took some videos)

This is the Eurocopter Tiger we will be putting into service soon, it'll replace the Huey and Kiowa.

The RAAF's own Aerobatics display team, the Roulettes

A NZ Airforce plane, dunno it's name, but god bless it, its big, noisy, and flew damn low, what a sight!

What i refer to as "Mustang Alley", guess why

The Black Hawk, or in the Aussie Armys case, Tan Olive and Black hawk

RAAF F/A-18, love them too, they sound sweet, but no way do they beat a...

F-111, "the pig", "aardvark", oooh yeah, nothing like watching one of them zip past with its after burners on, and dumping full causing a mass flame out its arse! And god do they sound good!

Here is the F-35, i cant say it does much for me, to damn futuristic

And here comes the Herc, right after it did a vertical dive!

Very low fly by, guess the gear is a safety precaution when your going that low in such a beast!

For a fat old thing it sure can move

Here's one for Ralph, i know you like your Avengers mate

Well that's it, i hope you guys enjoyed looking at them, if you really want the vid footage let me know in PM, its of F/A-18, and F-111's, fly by's, full dumping, after burners n' stuff.
Like i said there was so much more, like this insane dude who walks around ontop of the wings of a Bi-Plane while its flyin..high! Also many other Jet's, F-15's, F-16's, even a B-52, name it, it was there!
Also a fairly large Australian Army exhibit also, Leopards, ASLAV's, M113's and such.
Let's hear what you think.
Cheers

That looks like an awesome day out Dave. The RNZAF plane I think is a Boeing 737 or 727.
Just one question for ya............was there a NZ Mustang there? It has red and black chequers on it.

Sweet pictures, thanks for posting them.

Didn't even know that the F-35 was already shown at airshows?
I'll guess we'll just have to get used to the looks of the future in aviation...

For me, just give me the sweet round curves of the B-17 and I'm a happy modeler.....

Great photos David,

Andy the RNZAF aircraft is a Boeing 757, they replaced the old 727s about 3 years ago.

You think that F35 looks futuristic David what about that Eurocopter!! How many did you guys get?

No more of F-35 guys, no more of anything :-) Memory ran out!
Russ, hmm, the Tiger i can handle, not so futuristic i think, it has been around for like, 10 years or more, but i am not sure how many we ordered mate, i have a feeling it was around the 20 mark, not sure.
Anyway glad you all liked em.
Cheers
