Kitchen supply shops. They are used for cheap coasters for cups, plates and pans. My local has some different thicknesses.
Check the type of cork though. The type that is usually available, has larger chips of cork and is impossible to sand as Carlos shows. The type he uses has very fine chips of cork and can be sanded.

Can also check out auto parts stores. They have it for use in scratch making gaskets, it has a very fine grain and can be purchacesed right off of large rolls. Cheers Kevin

You can also get it at Target and Walmart - Target in the office section, Walmart in the craft section.

about type of cork that you ust buy take attention to posts of Frank and Kevin. You need cork of most little chips that you can obtain.
for glue the cork against the cardboard white glue is O.K, but the best is these resinous glue for balsa wood.
