Hi,
I was just over on the Dragon site looking around and happened to take a good look see that this company's line of these 'action' figures they market, esp. the German stuff. I see that they are supposed to be coming out with a Pioneer figure here before too long and was really impressed with the detailing of the equipment and clothing that this figure has with it.

Now my question is: Does anyone here collect these figures and/or accessories? Or has anyone seen any of these pieces 'in the flesh' so to speak, and if so, what is you opinion of them? Just curious here.

Thanks and take care, Sgirty

Yup, I have a few myself. The newer action figs are the ones the you want to buy. Most of the old stuff isnt very good. All the old stuff needs weathering and stuff, so i do that myself. but the new stuff has it already done. They are awesome to collect.

I met a guy that collects German guns and memorabilia (including several WW2 motorcycles!! ) that has bought a few of these dolls... sorry action figures and he is highly impressed with the quality and accuracy of the product.

Military Modeller had a review last year some time on the British Zulu war sergeant. They stripped some of the parts and made them more authentic, but generally the review was good.

I have a few Dragon action figures. All ww2. One British, the rest is German.
Harrison is right about the amount of details on the early Dragon figures, they arn't very good compared to the new ones. All of mine are fairly new figures and they look great. Lots of good details and weathering. The faces are fantastic.

So far I have bought all my figures here

These guy's have a large selection as well. Haven't bought anything from them though.

Hi,
Thanks for the replys. Am seriously considering getting one just for a look-see. Going to check with my local hobby store tomorrow and see if they can get any of them in. They are really good at giving discounts to their steady customers who speical order things so they don't have to carry it in their inventory. I will be looking for a figure that has been issued since the first of the year along the lines of the Luftwaffe SP gunner; Pz. Grenadier, Eastern Front, '43; the radio operator Hermann Stahlschmidt; or the new medic figure. I also was listed somewhere on the Net. the Gebirgsjager 'Alfonse' which looked pretty nice too.

Take care, Sgirty

Hi,
Took some time to do some 'shopping' around on the Net. yesterday in search of dealers here in the U.S. who sell these 'action' figures. Found these two that look interesting:

atlantictoys.safeshopper.com

monkeydepot.com

Saw that atlantic toys has the Dragon Lufwaffe SP Gunner "Werner Bloch" for $36.95 which looked like an interesting place to start.

Also saw another figure on this site from a company called DID and it's called- W.W.II Sturmann "Kurt Dorr"- for $49.95. This is an SS machine gunner on the Eastern front, and is very nice indeed. The other store I've listed has some really interesting detail photos of this figure and I was very much impressed by it's quality and that of all of it's accessories. This figure also has two head with it as well.

I see that this DID company has several other German figures of the W.W.II era and they all looked very nice as well, with lots of accessories to them.

Believe I may order either the SS machine gunner or maybe both him and the Lufwaffe figure just for a comparison between the two of them. Lord knows I have more than enough plastic model kits to keep me busy for at least a couple of years without buying any more. Which I highly doubt. Ha!

Take care, Sgirty
