As a few of you know it's PER season again. Has anyone have this happen to you? After spending 2 hrs working on a couple of them, I save them to my disk and bring them to be printed. Well lo and behold when I try to open the first one it says "File not found" I then open the next one only to have it say " You are not allowed to have prior copies made blah blah blah see Ch 3 Para 6 " or some nause like that. There's only one PER for that pers on the disk!!!!! you computer geeks who create these programs to torment us dumb grunts! After threatening the computer and disk with death threats and unimaginable torture I ended up having to rewrite from scratch all my PERs.

I have since learned the phrase "Cut and Paste to MS Word" .... Life is so much less stressful now. Now I wait for the dreaded RED INK.

Oh by the way, I topped my LAV Gunner/Crew Commander course.

So that's why my supervisor's been grumpy... Don't have to worry about that for a few years, career progression is much slower in the Wog world.
Congrats on your course ranking! You can't have my username, though.

So much for the high tech world. the more complicated the program the more can go wrong. I have to take a weeks leave so I can be rested enough to write the things.

Of the 10 that I did 6 of them are due to be promoted or in the works for promotion. At least I'm done for this year!

Well, my platoon commander 6 hrs this weekend correcting our PER's, saved them on a disk, tried to open it and everything was lost and the computer asking if he wanted to format the disk. Fortunately I saved the narrative on Word so all we had to do was redo the bubbles and sig blocks. Can someone explain to me why I ca put unimportant info on a floppy, jump on it, throw it, leave it in the sun and still have it work fine but I put a PDR/PER on and if I so much as breathe on it I lose everything??!?!?!
