Hi All
I just want to find out what you guys think of this. Reading Cover War there are many tales of Owambo, not Bushman trackers that is the strange part, tracking insurgents for hundreds of km. And this was over really hard ground and in some parts even covered with foliage.
These guys were able to tell just by looking at the spoor what the condition was of the man they were following. For instance was he tired or scared, was he limping or running very vast. In one instance they could identify that a expert insurgent who was using some very good anti-tracking methods kept chasing away his inexpierence buddy until the guy just followed him from a safe distance. They both wer shot so the story can't be collaborated.
I think it is one of the wonders of this strange continent we live on. Truely awe inspiring.

Truely an amazing continent.
As much as we sometimes hold certain ethnic groups (not only in SA, but all over the world) in disdain for not embracing the ways of the West, you have to respect them for remembering their origins and the old ways.

I agree totally with that statement. Apparently they only used the Owambos who came from the villages, none from the bigger cities. Apparently those form the cities didn't learn how to track or forgot because they didn't need the skill.
