I placed an order with Lucky Model last week right before the Chinese New Year, and I was wondering if they send a email confirmation when they ship your items? I just want to know so I can expect when I should be getting my AFV Club Tiger I

Yes they do. They also have a tracking system so you can see the status of your order.... Jim

Dear Scott Dimmick,
Since it is Chinese New Year last week, all shipment received within Chinese New Year is "spooled" until this Monday (14th Feb). All shipment goes out via the new Airmail postal services. It would probably reach you by this Friday or latest on next tuesday.
Because of this new postal services arrangement, our software system does not "catch" the shipment on time. Therefore, even though the shipment has been sent, the shipment notification still not send to individual customer.
We are working hard to finish the new transport method and all shipment "spooled" for next monday would sure have the shipment notification.
For other shipping method such as surface and EMS, the usual notification will be generated.
Unlike the original airmail method which we will include the "registered mail" no., the new airmail method does not have any "tracking" no. in order save cost. So, we are developing our own tracking tool to notify if the customer whether received the order on the estimated time. (Our records show mail loss or Damage due to Air transport is low).
The decision that we abort the original "registered mail" is that the tracking only contained to the stop export out of HK (the date when it is loaded on board), no further tracking is possible. And at the end, we will take care the mail loss at our own cost. So, we decide to skip this "registered mail". Since the airmail would not take very long to reach the customer, therefore, if the anyone does not received the order within the ETA (7-14 days on our shipment date), please send us a note and we will follow up the case.
Sorry that I should explain earier.
If you have any question, please feel free to contact us at the moment.
Best Regards
Raymond Chung

Isn't it great when these mail order companies monitor our system and take care of little issues. I wish a couple of them here (in US) would get more interested in customer care

Amen to that. I think it's great that Ray is here. I now feel the same way about him as I do my LHS. I'd buy from him ever if his prices weren't as great as they are.
Don't go raising them though Ray.

With all the good word going around about Lucky Model I figured I'd go ahead and place an order. Got me two of those nice Academy M-60 w/ERA kits, can't beat it at $10 each.

Dear rebelsoldier,
Our first "lower-rate airmail" would probably reach our customer (you are one of them). We know it would be faster next time (as we are working out a better logistics operation). How about the condition of the package ? We would like to know the quality of our new postal agency if the thing go in quality way.
Best Regards

dear ray,
the package made it in great shape, all parts still in the wrap, and accounted for. the bubble wrap is great[ my daughter loves it ]and provided more than enough protection.
again thanks for the great service to your buyers. the inquiry is appreciated also as most buyers don't get a follow up.....
