Ola People
Today I received my brand new Cell Phone. I`m really happy with it. Bought it on the internet and it is in good condition considering it`s age. The Phone comes from 1944 and it is not modified. A lot of the German fieldphones were used by our Postal and Telecom services after the war and they made modifications on it. One thing I really like about it is that it is complete often things are missing like the winding device. Well I have some pics for you
A Bakelite Case
German Radio Alphabet
Winding Device
1942 marking on the winding device
Overview
Electric Wiring diagram
Electric Wiring Diagram 2
Original 1944 Battery
1944 stamp on Battery
More markings
Inside stamp
Hope you guys like it. I definately do. It is a nice addition for my own Collection

Pretty cool piece of memorabilia you have there.
Funny you should call it a "cell phone." I worked at Radio Shack many, many moons ago. The cell phones we sold then were about as big as that thing, or even bigger. They cost about $1000, air time was about $50 a month, and you got, ready for this, 60 minutes of talk time for that. If you went over, big bucks. Compare that to today. They are as much of an antique as what you've got there.

Ola Guys and gal
Thanks for the comments.
@Mirko
Shall I call in to an Artillery Battalione and ask for a Nebelwerfer Barage :-) :-) :-)
@Mary
A guy on another forum that I visit regularly had three on sale. The other two were cheaper but were missing parts and were modified and therefor not that original
@Rodger
LOL you are right.... In Every hip 80`s movie you see these Cell Phones with the Size of an American Wireless set from WW2. You laugh about it now but when you had one in those days you would probably be a wealthy man.
@Hilbert
Well not with this battery :-) :-) :-) But when I hold the white button that is on the Cell Phone itself and I turn the winding device clockwise it rings... Pretty funny. And to assure you I simply bought it so I won`t get any troubles with the police.
@Kenaz
You got it right on the head. The germans made some really good stuff during the war years. And when you get it cheap it is even better
Thanks for the replies and comments

Ola Guys
Thanks for the comments.

The phone is indeed in Excellent condition. That was what surprised me when I got it at home and did some cleaning on it.
David
You can`t get a better weathering like this :-)
