After all these years, I've figured out that no matter what the weather where I'm at, somewhere, some groundhog is going to see his shadow......

Hi. Six more weeks will put us in the middle of March, which is still known to get cold and produce an occasional snow storm.

The older I get the less excited I get about this cold season. I know Mother Nature needs this time to rest, but it sure doesn't help us older folks in tolerating it any better. Not really wild about the hot 'dog days' of summer either, but I can tolerate that a little bit better than the cold anymore. Spring and fall are my two favorite seasons.

Take care, Sgirty

it sucks for me because I do most of my painting outdoors and the cold temperatures don't agree with the airbrush or any aerosol. I am too po' for a spray booth not to mention a place to put it so it could ventilate properly.

Well, us Southerns have a bit more to be happy about, because "General Beau Lee" says:
After conferring with the huddled crowd, Game Ranch CEO Col. Art Rilling proclaimed Beau’s prediction: “PACK YOUR PARKAS AND BREAK OUT THE LAWNMOWER...! NO SHADOW THIS YEAR-- IT'S AN EARLY SPRING!"
Sorry about y'alls lame Punxutawny thing. Isn't it about time they made him into stew?

The older I get the less I like the winter, and the more I understand retired folks moving to warmer places. Although I also do not like extremely hot weather, there has to be a place that you either don't freeze for months or roast for months at a time.
I remember two seasons Spring and Fall.... seems the last few years here.... we haven't had them for more than a few weeks each....

Well in the seven years I've lived up here in Colorado I've seen snow in every month except July and August. It doesn't snow much, but it can do it anytime. For me I won't mind six more weeks of winter, and I'll tell you why. Technically we have four seasons here but we really only have two, Honey Do season and the rest of the year. Longer it stays cold the longer until I hear those dreaded words, "honey, what are we going to work on this weekend?" Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

Here in Northern England (where it is reputed to be always 'grim') I drovew to work under a glorious sunrise, pink sky, orange clouds and vapour trails, some ground mist- more like autumn.
Maybe you should think 'relocation'!

Being used to the hot & humid (not to mention polluted) weather of the Philippines, thinking of the winter environment had always gotten me excited. NOT ANYMORE! Now I know what they mean when they say harsh, bitter winter. Can't wait for summer or maybe even moving to the West. I love SD's weather.
