Right, for those that missed the cheap compressors at Netto, here’s one you’ll love:

As I stated in Cheap 'Dremel' typ tool at Homebase, the ‘cheap’ compressors still need at least a water trap / filter, most require a regulator as well.

Just an ‘Air filter kit’ will set you back about a tenner! A regulator / filter combination will set you back a minimum of £17-00. This Sealey SA4FR38 is quite good and at about £22-00 it’s cheap. Don’t forget you might need fittings etc.

Now the gloom part is done with, a PM from Phantom_Major got me searching and I turned up this beauty!

From what I can see, it already has a regulator / filter fitted. These might need upgrading in a few years as your needs increase, but it sure looks to be a bargain @ £59-99 including the accessories and P&P (Usually next day).

How’s that for advertising, oh yeah, click on the Pic for the link!

PS: I think it will still be VERY-VERY LOUD! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

Thats almost the same as the one i got from B&Q for £69.00 works fine much better than my Revell Gamma, only thing is the noise 99 decibel but i can live with it only takes about 50 seconds to fill the 6 litre tank.

I have been trying to get a Rockworth Compressor 2.5Litre, 1.5HP compressor from B&Q. Handle doubles as storage tank, Price £49.99. But it is impossible to get it in any of the stores here in NI, and it seems that B&Q can't order it into store for me. They do have a 6Litre compressor at £69.00 in store. Anyone got any info. on them. Are they good enough for driving a modelling airbrush such as my Aztec.

Hi Cookie the £69.00 is the one I baught It works fine with my airbrush only thing I had to buy was an adapter for my airline B.&Q had them cost £1.50.Like I said before its a bit noisey but It only runs for I minute to fill the tank then it tops itself up that takes about 10 seconds I find I have much more control with it than the Revell gamma .

James is it the push in type connector on your compressor that doent match your a.b. I had the same problem my compressor was a push in type and my a.b. was a scew on type I got a adapter from B.&Q. for £1.50 did the job.

Quoted Text

the part of the compressor i need to connect my air brush too is threaded, so is my airbrush. the adapter that cam with the airbrush is too shallow, it simply wont screw on it lacks enough depth to reach the threads on the compressor....does this make sense?

James, the compressor you have has a separate 'quick coupler' attachment (see image below) in a box, it needs to be screwed on to the compressor.

The air hose (orange coiled hose) then attaches to this and with the item below attached to your AB's hose and adapter you’re up and away.
