In the morning! Smells like victory!

Here at the isolated and heavly guarded Von Selrach compound in Indiana we have family modeling days where everybody joins in on the fun

Here my daughter Shannon (8) is working on her Academy 1:144 scale MiG 23 Flogger. She looks so intent as she uses a tooth pick and glue. The smell of the non-toxic cement brings back memories She is amazingly clean with the glue and sanding all the parts. She's a natural. Everyone else here is doing AFV's but Shannon is a devoted wingey lover.

This is my teeenager Erin (14) working on her king tiger for the Ardeenes build. She is a member here by the name of Elrhia and has posted her progress in another forum.

Here is Shannon's current progress on her Mig. I'm posting for her because, being only 8, she doesn't yet have an account here, but is a bit envious of her older sister's posts. She has done a couple of dino models before this, making the MiG her third ever model.
As you can see she has chosen a "unique" soviet cammo scheme.
It won't be long before I'm almost as good as her.

Here you can see the airbrushed underside of the MiG. A nice ckean build for someone so young.

Here is Shannon with her first Wingy Thingy, she looks so proud.

I tell you, these kids just make me proud.

Its a lot of fun modeling at the diningroom table with the whole family. And Shannon, being only 8 years old, is a natural at this!! You should have seen that intense look, her careful glueing together of parts, and using the glue sparingly, no complaining, just sheer enjoyment of creating this little masterpiece. She's already been looking at new airplanes and bombers, etc. for her next build. I wish my builds were as clean and precise as hers, and as calm!! Way to go Shannon!!! And I love the camo!!! very original and creative . Eight years old!!! I can't wait to see what her models will look like when she's in her teens!

Looking forward to seeing more pics!

Hi Shannon

It's great to see you post your modeling work here on the site. I know both your Mom and your Dad as we talk often in the chat room, and I know how proud they are of you and your sister.

Your model--- I like it, and it is obvious from your pictures that you enjoy working right along with your sister and parents---that's pretty cool, so keep up the good work!!!

Your airbrush work on the underside belly of the Mig is well, done, and the build itself looks nice and clean.

The camo---your artistic skills and joy in bright colors is very apparent here.

Congrats!

AH-HA , now we know the secret to your success, great looking crew you have there Selrach. Its great when the whole family can do things together, (specially when its modelling). I'll bet Shannon's camo pattern will catch on.

It's good that modelling has become a family hobby for you all, the only other member of my family that takes part is my 14 year old son - and he's only into the Warhammer series!

That cammo scheme reminds me of my first model - aged 7 - the old Airfix Hurricane painted gloss red with black stripes, including the canopy!

Wow! So great to see the whole family involved.

I had both my wife & 6 year old son involved for a bit. My son is still a bit too impatient for modelling and my wife just needs to find a subject that isn't too difficult to start with (she started out building a Lindberg Jolly Roger, which I would've never touched).

Look forward to seeing more pics!!!
