Despite the threats of death, desipte the car bombings, mortar rounds and rockets the people of Iraq VOTED in the first free election if 50 years.

To see the old, the infirmed, the young voting for their destiny made me proud.

People who want to be free, will vote despite all perils.

How sad in America where many voters simply refuse to get off their fat arses.

And to the "But" Monkeys out their - people like Kerry and Pelosi who cannot give the Bush Administaration any credit without adding a "but" - I say to them - they were wrong on the war, they were wrong on the election in American and they are wrong on the future of Iraq.

So what?

60% of people voted... Pretty good... but the % was much lower depending on the tribal division... so the chances of a representative govt are unlikely.

Plus I fail to see how a democratic election is gonna stop people shooting, bombing and firing missiles at each other.

There is a LONG way to go in Iraq... perhaps a start has been made but unless the govt can form a police/army that can stand alone and deal with opposition it remains a coalition policed state. Which I guess isnt what most Iraqis really want...

Lets just hope Bush doesnt start on any of the other 'Axis of Evil' memebers...
