Well, the title says it all, I picked up a cheap 'Dremel' type rotary tool with over 100 bits for £ 14.99 the other day. Half price promotion. Not sure how long the promotion continues, or what the quality of the tool is like, but for this price it,s worth it for the bit alone. Its a " PBX 103 MRT " . At Homebase, which is usualy near Sainsbury's I think.
Cheers

I didn't look for commpressors, as I picked one up from my LHS. ( But that's a different story...
).
I don't know about the ones in the DIY shops, they tend to be very noisy.
Cheers

don't suppose you noticed if they stock compressors too mate, did you?
i know someone posted a while back that Netto were doing them as part of some offer for about £50 a pop... if anyone has any info could they PM me...thanks
James, I have a similar compressor and it is VERY loud! Added to that, it requires a decent regulator and water trap for correct airbrush use. Without these modifications it does work, but water and airbrushes don't mix! As I said before, IMHO this Airbrush Compressor (click on photo for link)

is probably the cheapest all round airbrush compressor with an air capacity (tank) to avoid pulsation.

About a year ago I bought a Dremel type rotary tool, 22,000 rpm etc… Turns out it was a bit too powerful to use with plastic, melted the plastic and I did fear for my fingers.
Recently, I found a Blackspur mini drill on Ebay, 18Volts, easy to control and works with almost all fittings. They are readily available at about ±£14-00, usually less than £10-00 on Ebay!
Edit:
Just came across this one on Ebay

at £9-99 plus £4-00 for p&p!

i work for homebase I got one of their own brand rotarys from the skip nothing wrong with it then i found another one the boss sold them to me for £1.00 then he asked me if i found them before they were lost, cheek :-) Ive used it to cut plastic and clean up road wheels it has a variable speed and it worked fine. Home base now stock a compressor made by Stanley bit pricey £129.00 but thats usually good gear. Argus do compressors as well cant remember the brand but its a good name about £99.00.
