i had to do a project on the war of 1812 for history class and found this pretty interesting.

A few of Canada's various Regiments owe their beginning to deep pockets of a wealthy patriot. At the start of WW1,Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry began due to A. Hamilton Gault (see http://www.ppcli.com/main_file.php/history/25/ ) Lord Strathcona's Horse (Royal Canadian) was raised by ... Lord Strathcona. Donald Smith equipped them for the Boer war by himself.(a la http://www.strathconas.ca/bmenu_history.php )
We've got a great and rich military history, despite what you see on CBC, and those of us serving are proud of that.

lol, the hundreth post is always awsome, wait till you get to 1000 ( lol, my goal for the new year) must be fun, but at one point you have so much fun around you forget about the number of posts you have.
