This is what happens when you come back from a combat deployment.

This is the first photograph of the new addition to my family. My wife was 9 weeks at the time this sonogram was done.

The baby is the light colored blob on the left side in the dark area. The light circle to the left of the light colored blob is the yoke sack that the fetus feeds off of until the umbilical connection develops.

I am excited but nervous all at the same time. My 16 years in the Army has prepared me for almost everything but being a father. Is there a TM or FM for fatherhood? :-)

I know some of you aren't interested but I wanted to share this exciting news with my Armorama family.

Hey Congrats on that man! Enjoy it. I was too young and scared when my first and only was born and I didn't go through alot of the "fun" stuff!

Isn't it a wonderful feeling?
If you think this is intense, wait till the first time you connect with your baby. My son was about 8 weeks old and I was taking him out of his crib. He looked right into my eyes. He's 33 now and I can still close my eyes and see that look. I wouldn't trade that memory for anything in the world.
I wish that for you Brent.
God bless you and your family.

Congratulations Brent....you'll both find it to be a wonderful experience. In response to your question above....I've always found the Bible provides the best example of what a Father should be.

Hmm not really a manual, but you'll need all the help...

Congrats Sarge!
TM to be written along the way from here on out.
People/kids will never be perfect so do what you and the mom think is right and good for them. You're gonna screw up but that's OK,'cause you're learning too!
You will be great,have fun!

I remember it like it was yesterday. (Actually 7 years ago)

No manual prepares you for what will be the toughest job you will ever love.

All the best -
