Well thanks to Jim (Jimbrae) I ordered 4 Skybow models last week, from Accurate Armour, since they were selling them off for £10 each. My God! First time I've tried Skybow. For anybody who doesn't know.....they're fantastic! I've just completed stage 3 of the instructions for the 'Big Shot' and it's going together like a dream, or like the best Tamiya has to offer in their latest kits, but with a LOT more detail! I cannot believe the engine on this thing! I thought the Tamiya Famo engine was good for an injected kit, but this thing is amazing!
Anybody know where I can find some good pics of the real engine on this? I'd love to leave the hood up, but add some more detail, and I haven't been able to find any pics anywhere?

try the Dodge albums in Roo's Truck Archives in our gallery here on armorama

or I have some here at home. Motor & Gearbox were a light grey and fittings like starter and generater etc where semi gloss black. Power take off unit if you added the winch was OD.

hope this helps

Skybow did not go out of business. Like AFV Club, Skybow is a small manufacturer. They sold many of their molds to AFV Club for capital to produce more model kits. Some will be in 1:48 scale, and others will be in 1:35th scale.

Mind the connection of the spare on the holder,it will be a tight to the fender fit.
All in all,the kit falls together.Cliff (Roo) will be a wealth of help.

I got my 'Big Shot' yesterday - just a point on that, it was ordered last friday, 3 working days from Scotland to NW Spain is excellent service. I'll be starting it this weekend...

Re. Skybow - Gunnie was quite correct, the moulds for all the kits (apart from the M41) were sold to AFV Club. The company NEVER went bust as some have said (as I was corrected in that in a news story a while ago, i've never forgotten ) The mould for the M41 on the other hand, may have been sold to AFV Club as well. However, bearing in mind they have their own M41, it is unlikely it will ever see the light of day...

The 1/48th scale vehicles from Skybow are looking damned good and I would predict they are going to be MUCH better than the Tamiya ones. As ever, when more details become available, you'll see themhere...Jim
