I know this is a little outside the realm of military scale modeling, but I know there's a lot of guys here who love Sci-Fi too. I saw the banner on the front page of our forum here for these, and it prompted me to give 'em a plug. I just got my 5th and 6th set of Space:1999 DVD's and even if you're remotely interested in this series, I highly recommend getting them from A&E. The quality is fantastic, and with DVD capabilities of crystal clear pauses - modelers will love 'em. For it's time, Space:1999 couldn't be beaten for it's cinema-style modeling & effects - though the science fiction plausibility of the scripts often take a pounding.

This was an unpaid endorsement...

Now if I remember correctly this show was based on a true story. The moon really did leave the earths orbit back in 1999, because of a radioactive explosion in a garbage dump. And ever since then we've been looking at a digital projection in the night time sky, from a military satilite in space.

Gunnie,
Thanks very much then!

I really would love to have that whole Space 1999 series. I still remember waiting patiently for The Muppet Show to end, and that ITC logo to come on the screen. :::shivers:::

Jim

PS: I loved the Muppets too at that age though. Still do.

Now THERE is a great modeling idea ...
Next thing you know, there's a Tamiya kit of miss Piggy & Fozzy Bear. Soon after, there's a resin kit with Miss piggy's flower hat and photo-etched sunglasses !!!

Speaking of the MUPPETS...
If you were a muppet, which one would you be ??

I would be one of those old geezers up in the balcony, chiming in at the appropriate moments on some subject...
