I approved several Campaigns this morning, trying a new approach out with everyone. Campaigns still awaiting approval need more enlistees. I wanted to let all Campaign Leaders and Participants know that in taking this approach, the idea in 2005 is to approve a Campaign as soon as all the information is listed and there are enough enlistees enrolled - even if the Campaign starts out several weeks or months in the future.

Hopefully, this will give everyone a better feeling that you''re not hanging out in limbo and ignored.

To make this work - I ask all Participants to please read and familiarize yourselves with the rules set by the Campaign Leaders when you sign up. Do not jump the gun and make it tough on the Campaign Leaders. The pre-notice of approval will work great to let you know you''ve got the "go ahead" and you can gather your materials to hit the ground running.

If this becomes a problem and the Campaign Leaders begin to experience trouble in managing the activities - we''ll have to revisit this idea.

I hope this works better for you all in 2005!

Gunnie

well i have to agree on the rule understanding part a lot. Many many times i see posts of misunderstanding rules and guidelnes that are usually so well written from the leaders . So adding up to Jim , its wise to print the campaign info sheet, read it many times, think of ur stash and options, also ur time, and ur building speed and last how many more campaigns ar u obliged to .
Its not nice to see a campaign with 40 - 50 participants enlisted and at the end 10-15 finishes .

Its better to have all people that enlist finished, even if theyre less . Thas my humble opinion on the subject , so just added my agony to this one ..

You said it both nice there, I totaly agree! Hope this is going to work, and I'm sure it will if everbody cooperates.

Oh and thanks for approving VE day, Capture Aidid and Red Cross (I must be cautious not to sign in too much myself haha)

Guntruck- I would also ask that you caution enthusiastic leaders to check to campaign scheulde so they don't jam them too close. I plotted all the running campaigns and I count 17 running concurrent in Jan 2005 alone. In Feb2005 three campaigns will be expiring but four more begin making a high point of 18 concurrent campaigns. While they begin to thin out by May to fourteen, there are only five from June to the end of the year.

It's great that everyone wants to have a campaign but we are very front heavy in the first half year right now.

I agree - and a very good suggestion!

If I had my druthers, I'd like to be able to approve a whole year's worth of campaigns in January. In the past, we tend to get a rush in the last part of the year for the beginning of the following year. It happened this year too. Now, I'm expecting another rush around spring time that fills out the rest of 2005. We'll see if that happens.
