OK had to format and reinstall windows xp onto the C drive .. now problem is it's only showing the C drive on the HDD now the disk has been formatted into 2 sections the C and D drive got any idea's as how to get the D drive back up?

did you partition and format the D drive?

when I first got the Pc thats what I done using partion magic tried the demo mode it can see the unused space but not sure how to get xp to see the new drive

What does it show under Disk Management in the Computer Management window within Administrative Tools?

All osrted now used partition magic and formatted the lot! lost loads but nice and clean time to start filling it up with junk again :-)
