I'm having problems trying to glue together metal rods using crasy glue like chemical. Not having any luck, I'm wondering if brass would be better? Any suggestions? What type of glues to use?

If you use brass you also have the option of soldering the works together.

Try rubbing some fine sandpaper over it to give it some bite.
What exactly is "using crasy glue like chemical?"
Get some Zap-a-Gap and accelerator from your LHS or use epoxy.

It means that I tried a crasy glue imitation. Over here it's called something else. Thanks for tips guys. I would rather use some strong glue that works quick. So I guess it would be epoxy.

Depending on the diameter of the rods and what you are using them for you could also try plexiglass rods. The super glue should have a better grip to hold them and as long as they are going to be painted it dosen't matter if the glue fogs them.

Hello,

Soldering is going to give you the strongest bond. But make sure none of the rods is aluminum or steel.

In addition to sanding the metal rods you might also want to wash them down with water + detergent to make sure there you are gluing one clean metal surface to another.

Cheers,

Richard

Plexiglass?mmmm Never thought of that but it wouldn't work in my situation. thanks for the great tips. Brass would take a longer tideous procedure. It's going to require lots of soldering.

I think I would go ahead with two-part epoxy.
