Found this in the Features section:

I can recommend it personally, it works!

Welcome to Armorama!

Heh. No big deal. That must have been one of the first things I asked myself in this forum long time ago while making my first diorama...

Hey guys here is another way i like to do. Pretty simple just using a plastic screen.

Just cut in strips with hobby knife.

And that's it, not much it. Almost as good as the real thing.

Hey, Mother;
Where were you when I was twisting all that barbed wire by hand? The screen idea looks good, but have you tried it with metal screening? Anyway, I'm going to try your way the next time.

Metal screening is just interwoven and not attached like nylon screening. You'd get a wavy wire and a bunch of little loose pieces of wire.

That feature article on barbed wire (actually concertina wire) was excellent....who'd a thought I had a couple hundred miles of scale wire attached to my house??

I haven't seen the PE version of barbed wire, so I can't comment on it. But I can say, who ever "twists" their own has A LOT more patience than I!

If someone finds a really good source for WWII era barbed wire, I hope they post it.

i posted earlier today about wire and said i thought 34 guage would be too hard to work with. i had no idea to do it as the feature article showed! i might just try that for kicks! i think i like the look a little more than the screen mesh. ( i say this now before attempting to roll my own )

Mother, I thought I had seen almost every kind of barbed wire there was, and when I seen you guys making it out of plastic screen, I had never seen barbed wire like that at all. I even thought you guys were wrong. There is many kinds, but none like that I had seen.

Then I finally got some pictures of some M1A1 over in Iraq and hanging on the back of them was the wire you guys were making. So now I seen this kind in real life, but before, I thought you guys were mistaken, my apologies, for assuming you guys were wrong, I'm glad I never said anything before I totally investigated it.

I wonder when they came out with that style?
