Kakimodel sounds a good prospect. How about "Teh Tarik Conner-lah" or some other variations with "lah" on it as almost everyone seems to have attached to something when we speak.

KakiModel Sdn. Bhd. sounds more corporate. Of course if we were indonesians we would have to put PT KakiModel.

Hmm...well my 2 cents runs right along the same lines as Beachbum.
I too was thinking some sort of name with the "lah" at the end ... my husband tells me this is a popular thing to do when speaking.
AND I was also thinking about something using the teh tarik idea ... me thinks beachbum stole my thoughts!

I'll second-lah Aisyah on the teh-tarik cornerlah. Great minds think alike but somehow I don't that would apply to me though. You've got to have a mind to begin with and as usual I've misplaced mine.

Boss, I can write the Intro for our forum if you like. Just let me know how long and any manglish specifics you need to have.

I suggested Teh Tarik Corner-lah coz its a truly M'sian habit practiced by all races here. Personally I don't like the stuff, waaaaay toooo sweet. Besides the wife is sweet enough. Come to think of it that sounded sickly sweet too (hehheh).

Here's another to complicate things:

Pasar Malam Model
(another M'sian phenomena, noisy, busy, crowded and everyone speaking in their own lingo at the same time).

IMHO (in my humble opinion) i dont htink teh tarik corner really suits, should have a title that has something to do with model.

I thought the point to selecting the name was to come up with something "truly" Malaysian so to speak. I like the Teh Tarik (although I'm a java drinker myself) wording because it fits right in with the three page thread running in the forum currently (teh tarik session proposal). And of course "lah" is a common phrase regardless of which language is being spoken. Seems sooo Malay to me ... but what do I know I'm American? haha Although I do know the phrase does sound a bit more friendly to a FEMALE modeler.

Boss, what do you want in it? Welcoming speech, intro to Amorama, etc? Here's a sample, modify as necessary....

"Welcome fellow Malaysian Modellers to The Best Modelling Site ever. If your'e looking for info, advice or just to share your modelling joys & frustration you couldn't have come to a better place-lah. Not only will you find hardcore modellers of every age, gender and description here but most importantly, Malaysian ones.

Here, we appreciate the finer points of plastic and enjoy the magic of glue. So sit back, relax-lah and let your fingers do the walking."

As for the name maybe you need to Kenny (@ Kuching), Opie and some of the other guys to decide. They've been kind of quiet.

Errrr....... guys ( and gal )

Can I chip in ? How about
MalaysianModelers & KraftKru? It sez, in the first place, where we're from. Second, who and what we do and promote. Third, it's an art, a craft and the artists are not confined to only one area of modeling. Last the identity bit with 'crew' spelt in the National Language ( ? ). Indentifible to the rest of the English speaking community too.
'nuff said Any sign of mob violence and I'm haeding for the hills..............
