Hi
I was just wondering if anyone else on this site is from Montana. Maybe you were even stationed here once at Malmstrom, in Great Falls. That's where I live. Let me know.

Rob,
How is Malmstrom? My Dad was stationed there with the 17th DSES for a while, then moved to CBO. I was there from 1975 - 1983 till I graduated from MSU.
Dad since moved to Delaware so haven't been back up that way for over 10 years (now in SLC, UT). Do they have anything flying there anymore? I also have a bunch of pics on my website of the Montana ANG planes. www.ipmsslc.com

Hey Phil
I was beginning to think nobody had heard of the place. Malmstrom is going strong, but there is no flights there anymore. They took the fueling flight in the 1990's and they didn't get another. The runway is closed. They are with Space command now, primarily with the missiles. You graduated from MSU? I was there from 1977-1981. Good to hear from you.

I was in North Hedges 77-78 and Roskie 78-79, then off campus. I majored in business, after two quarters in Architecture. Graduated in 1981 in Marketing. What was your degree in?

Hi, Was stationed there in Big Sky Country 1989-1992, (Security Police). I loved the Great falls area, did a lot of camping and such. Dont know why I ever moved back east. I miss the Great Falls area. So did any LHS open there ? There was a guy who was just starting one just before I moved. Some of the guys tried to start the Treasure State Modelers club, I was a menber for a few months before I left. We had an event at the Fair there, near the model railroad layout. Isthat still there ? It was one of the big attractions at the Fair. Maybe someday I'll move back. Take Care, milvehfan

This is a very nice area right on the edge of the Rockies,Ive always wondered why I never
been up here before. We have one LHS here which has a great selection of paint and etc.
But has little stock in either armor or aircraft, and this all seems to be the low end of the quality scale.Looks like I order off line from now on.LOL

Rob.

Unfortunately I am not in Great Falls anymore. I left there in 2003 to go to the USAF Academy and teach. Spent 3 years at the 819th Red Horse Squadron there at Malmstrom. Still know several folks that are there still in Red Horse. I was into model railroading at the time and only recently got into armor modeling. I am considering moving back to that area in a few years once my son graduates in 2012. I loved the area and so did my wife. I guess we'll see what happens. It all hinges on whether I can find an engineering job there in Great Falls at that time.
