When I try to access my gallery from Aol I get the following message

Quoted Text

Web site not responding (Error 502)
The Web page you are trying to access has not been found on this site.

This might be because:

The Web site you have requested may be experiencing technical difficulties due to a busy or broken server. Please try again by clicking the Reload icon on your AOL bar or, if that doesn't work, try visiting
the site again later.

I also got this message when I tried to delete the post I'd put in Site talk by mistake. Yet when I went back to my old Isp everything worked fine.Has anyone any Ideas?

I have had the same problem for some months now. I can't upload pic's through AOL . I can if I log on to the site via MSN, but I'm not a big fan of MSN..
Don't know why it won't work via AOL, but I do wonder why I pay my subscribtion if they decide what I can or can not do.....

I think AOL is having some issue with either the time it's taking to complete a request, or some other unique issue with their system. I am not sure I can do anything about this on my end.

Thanks for the reply Jim, I think I might just have to throw some abuse into Aol.

Henk, are you on dial up or broadband? I've just ordered 256k broadband and am hoping that it might be better.

Pete, I'm on Broadband, also on 256 K. Seems to be O.K., bit quicker than dial-up and you can send larger files as wel. AOL does seem to have the occasional conectivity problem, when the whole shebang seems to go off-line.... this is off course for essential maintanance.... :-) :-) :-) :-) But on the whole I'm happy enough with it.

Cheers

Thanks for that Henk, I wonder if any other Aol users have the same problem?

I have had no more problems form home on AOL dialup than I have frpm work on a proprietary network. There is an automatic time out feature with both if the page being asscessed is not loading quickly enough or is down. Essentially the same message shows up at either location. I just went to "My photos" from the button below and from "My Account" with no problems. I was also abl;e to get into Stormbringer's photos as well.

Al, the problem is not getting into the gallery, or any other feature for that matter, but just uploading new photo's.
I think the time out sounds about right, and will sent an emaill to AOL tommorow to ask them to explain.

Could it be your pictures are exceeding the 600 kb file limit?

Al, Nope, I tried with a filesize that would have put a stamp to shame... :-)
Pete, have you installed the XP upgrade pack II ?
I think my trouble did start soon after II did, and Id did not have any problems uploading through AOL before.

Yes I've installed XP service pack II about 6 weeks ago before I had decided to go over to Aol, the funny thing is that I can't even get to my gallery via Aol let alone upload pics.

I agree on Henk about the problem is due to XP Service pack 2 not AOL because i have no AOL but since upgraded 2 i have temporary problems to uploading photos to gallery and my windows messenger cant send files anymore.

I've had no problems uploading pics with my old Isp since installing service pack II just while using Aol.

Dont mean to but in here but the problem is AOL security edition (at least for me) if I go back to optimised it works fine and then I went back to security it wont load my photos on my work website. You can go back to optimised and still keep the virus scan. if anyone has a fix for this please drop me a line :
badblue150 at aol of course

It gets better...
Having just received my A guard Gallery space, I thought earlier when i was at home, lets see if I can upload some larger file photo's. All well, I submit (first stage) after 'browsing for the pic, no problem. The next step comes up, where you add the title, etc. Fine, I hit proces, bingo... timed out..(AOL again). But now I'm at work, and we run through Freeserve, so I thought 'who knows..' and tried again, as the photo's you add by submiting stay in that 'screen' (?? hope that makes sense) untill they have been processed. Anyway, no problem with Freeserve..... Does that mean that AOL has tighter security than Freeserve (which would be good) or has Freeserve better conectivity with other ISP's ??
Anyway, where there is a will, photo's WILL be uploaded... :-)

Cheers
Henk
