Hi,
I was wondering what the general view on Citadel products is?
For those of you taht dont know, Citadel is the modelling company of Games-Workshop. I personnaly do not like the paints because the selection is not very big, they are too thick and they dry out too quickly.
Other products are OK though, like the files and the grass.

cheers

I've never used their paints, because alternatives are always cheaper. I've never used their other hobby products because alternatives are cheaper. All in all, if there's an alternative (and there always is) I use it. Hm. Guess I just don't care for Citadel.

On the other hand, I like Citadel paints for flesh tones and metallics. The quick drying time came be a bind when painting faces when there is lots of colur mixing though.

Won't argue about prices.

As for the role of GW in the demise of independent games shops

The Citadel metallics are SUPERB! their spray cans are also excellent as well - quick drying, thin coating and very flat. Absolutely excellent. Their normal acrylic colors are not as good as Vallejo. As far as price goes - even here in the land of the rip-off, they are still reasonably priced...Jim

Although I don't use their paints, I do use their inks, and they work very nicely......

I use a small selection of their acrylic paints - just flesh tones and metalics. I agree about the prices, but they are the best acrylic flesh tones I can find.

Games Workshop paints are ace i use them a lot ! the colours are wierdthough and unless you know how to mix them can present problems colour wise!
and the prices are fairly relative to other brands ,i dont like thier new paints since they changedto the flip lid although better for handling the formula is different and they remain quite sludgy yet translucent ! wierd!
the spray cans and metallics are the best around ,comparitivley and i use them all the time ,
as for the prices! did you know Gams Workshop's motto is :"TOTAL GLOBAL DOMINATION" ,
and they have a bad habbit of re- packaging other companies stuff thats why its so expensive i.e. greenstuff
i could tell you a lot more but will refrain .
:-)
